YOGA ETIQUETTE

To ensure you have a pleasant and rewarding experience at our studio, we ask that you please observe the following guidelines while attending classes at Taiga Yoga & Therapy Centre.

  • Wear comfortable, lightweight clothing. Baggy t-shirts are not recommended.

  • If possible, practice on an empty stomach – wait 3-4 hours after eating a meal and at least 2 hours after a snack.

  • Inform the teacher prior to class if you have any serious health concerns such as neck, back or joint injuries, have recently undergone surgery, have high blood pressure or if you are pregnant.

  • For the comfort of others, please refrain from wearing perfume or cologne.

  • We ask that once in the studio you sit or lie quietly before class begins.

  • If you must leave the class early, try to rest for a few minutes in Savasana (Corpse pose) beforehand. Leave before the remaining class members begin Savasana in order to avoid disrupting their resting time.

  • Please do not come to class if you're sick with a cold or flu.

  • Please talk in a quiet voice when entering Taiga Yoga.

  • Please do not bring your bag, backpack or jackets into the studio space.

  • Please make sure cell phones and mobile devices are turned off.

  • For your convenience - we have water so please bring a water bottle or cup.

  • You are welcome to use one of our mats if you do not yet have one of your own. After class, use the spray bottles provided to wash it down and place it neatly back in the rack.

  • If someone arrives a little late, please graciously make room for them.

  • If you arrive late, please put your mat down quietly. Allow yourself time to sign in and prepare for class. If possible arrive 15 minutes early.
